Mt Cotton Primary School’s “Box Sleepout” event was held last night where children in year 6 had a taste of what it is like to be homeless, when they slept in sleeping bags inside cardboard boxes overnight and had cold baked beans and bread for dinner. Katie Townsend from Night Ninjas spent the night with the group together with Chaplain Bonny Jordan, Principal Meagan Steward & 3 teachers. Katie and the Mayor Karen Williams spoke with the group of youngsters about the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in the Redlands, and what Night Ninjas does to assist them. The children collected donations towards the Xmas Hamper Drive that Night Ninjas has organised, and they also raised $1283.90 Thanks so much Mt Cotton Primary School students, teachers and chappy Bonny for your support !!!
